Advice for travelers
Most of the time, tap water is not drinkable.
Some states are more recommendable than others. But if you come to Valle de Bravo, you don't have much to worry about.
For cabs, you should always ask for the fare before getting in. Very few of them have a taximeter, or will plan to use it. It is always difficult to dispute the price upon arrival. It is often advised to use Uber, we can deplore it, but at least you are not at the mercy of some indelicate, since located by the application...
Mexico is a large country, air transport remains expensive but is often required, due to the distances.
For domestic flights, there are three “low-cost” companies. Be aware that the price can double, or even more from one day to the next, depending on the occupancy rate. Expect to pay more if you travel with your paraglider.
Car rental rates are relatively high and the choice of vehicles is limited. All the major rental companies can be found in Mexico. Requirements: You must be 21 years old, have an international or national driver's license and a credit card. You must have a Mexican car insurance policy, as your own policy is not valid in Mexico. Beware, deductibles are very high (they can reach 5% of the replacement cost of the vehicles!).
You will surely hear this saying:
The biggest risk in Mexico is wanting to stay.
